Decide What You Want to Reduce
Time, frequency and spending are different boundaries. A shorter session does not necessarily reduce the number of visits, and a spending cap says nothing about hours spent online.
Look at an ordinary week and choose a boundary that leaves room for work, sleep and other expenses. Write it down before opening the settings, rather than choosing a larger allowance because it is available.
- Use normal circumstances as your reference.
- Do not base a limit on recovering a previous loss.
Read the Setting's Scope
In the signed-in account area, look for personal controls, usage settings or session reminders. Names can move between releases, so read the explanation attached to the control.
A reminder and a block are not interchangeable. Check whether the setting stops an action, sends a notice or takes effect at the next period. Save only after you understand that difference.
- Record the start date and reset period.
- Keep the confirmation until the setting appears correctly.
Let a Reached Limit Do Its Job
A session may end, a reminder may appear or another action may become unavailable when the chosen boundary is reached. First compare that behaviour with the control's description.
A valid waiting period is not a software fault. Switching browsers, reinstalling or opening another account is not a legitimate way around it. Take the break you planned and return only within the permitted conditions.
- Read the reset time shown in your profile.
- Do not submit repeated requests for an increase.
Review It Away From Active Use
Set a separate time to review your usage, perhaps at the end of each week. Compare actual time or spending with the limit and consider lowering it if the allowance still feels uncomfortable.
If the app behaves differently from the saved control, document the setting and the unexpected action with timestamps. Ask XX9 support to investigate that discrepancy, not to remove a protection that is operating correctly.
- Keep a note of changes and their effective dates.
- Avoid raising a boundary during an emotional session.
